David Gilmour’s guitar solo on “Money” is made up of three parts with distinct production techniques. The first part David double-tracked manually (two performances) with a Stratocaster guitar into a Hi-Watt amp. In contrast to the massive delay and reverb of the first part, the second section of the solo is completely dry, with the effects kicking back in on the walkdown leading to the third part. David played the third part on a Lewis guitar so her could hit some high notes that were out of reach on his Strat. This part is automatically double tracked with an analog tape delay.
